In 1993 Damon Hill started his second season in Formula One with the all conquering Williams Renault team. A season at Brabham had given experience and Hills testing performances at Williams were enough to allow him to pip Mika Hakkinen to the most prised drive in F1.

Joe Saward caught up with Damon in September 1993:

The name ‘Damon’ comes from the Greek meaning ‘conqueror’. This year Damon Hill is second in the World Championship, behind Alain Prost and ahead of Ayrton Senna. He has conquered F1 – and most of his critics.

F1 Interview: Ron Dennis

McLaren 1993

In August 1992 McLaren were in turmoil. Senna wouldn’t commit to to the team due to his prior knowledge that Honda would be pulling out… something that Ron Dennis didn’t seem sure of.

F1 Interview: Pedro de la Rosa

Pedro de la Rosa

Pedro de la Rosa provided the Official Formula One Website with a look at how he feels about leaving McLaren and his fresh start for 2010:

Pedro, how do you feel after securing a race seat? Did you ever expect to be a full-time diver again?

“I am extremely happy about this, especially because I have been pushing for it for so many years. The reason I became a test driver was because I always wanted to go back racing. My motivation for testing was to keep on believing in myself and believing that this could happen. So I am extremely happy. I have learned a lot from working with a super team like McLaren Mercedes, and if I am here, it is thanks to them. They have helped me grow as a racing driver and I am a lot better now than when I joined the team back in 2003.”

Why are you back in the cockpit?
